How Can You Create Art Work that Inspires a Message?

Hi Everybody!

This week’s lesson will challenge you to think about how you can create artwork that can benefit others in your community.

Here is a loom video where I explain this challenge!

We have seen many examples of people creating art work that helps deliver messages of hope and perseverance during these tough times. People have created signs in their yards, along fences, in windows, as well as sidewalk chalk drawings for neighbors and passer by to see.

Your assignment is to create a work of art that helps other in your community to feel better. You can provide a helpful and encouraging message, you can use humor to inspire someone to laugh, you can create a peaceful image that might help someone to feel calm. Think about the emotion you want others to feel.

Here are some ideas of what you can make and use:

1. Use sidewalk chalk and create a chalk drawing that uplifts, inspires, and helps others. You can design text and create beautiful images. Take a photo of your work!

2. Create a sign to place in your front window or yard for passer by to see.

3. Create a work of art and just hang it in your home for your family to see.

**Make sure to get a jpeg of your work and load it up into Canvas! We will be displaying your work in our Padlet gallery soon and some work will go on SMA online!

**Use any art supplies you may have like chalk, paper, paint, markers, pens, collage paper, stencils and so on.
